141 Marianne Ingheim

When Marianne was diagnosed with breast cancer, she realized that she hadn’t been living the life that she was meant to live. She wanted to change. Marianne left her husband of 10 years. He committed suicide. She struggled with the guilt. Marianne went on a journey of self compassion, where she learned to be kind to herself. She shares these powerful nuggets of life wisdom:
– practice self compassion
– treat yourself like a good friend
– be mindful of how you speak to yourself
– practice self care
– make sure your decisions are in alignment with who you want to be
– you are stronger than you think
– true belonging starts with yourself

Marianne Ingheim is a Danish-Norwegian American writer, teacher, and PhD student at California Institute of Integral Studies. She is the author of the forthcoming book, Out of Love: Finding Your Way Back to Self-Compassion, from She Writes Press. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and stepson.
