Tim is a survivor of stage 4 colorectal cancer and he became a liver transparent recipient. He turned this experience into advocacy work, as he navigated his cancer journey. Today, he inspires other patients to become advocates for others. Tim shares the following nuggets of life wisdom:

  • we may not be in control of what happens to us, but we are in control of what we react to it

Shauna was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at a young age. This caused her to slow down and recognize areas of her life that were no longer serving her. Shauna began to cultivate a practice of mindfulness. She seeks to support others in their quest for emotional freedom and desire to experience deep peace, inspiration, joy, and optimal health. Shauna shares the following nuggets of life wisdom:

  • recognize areas of our lives that are no longer serving us
  • practice mindfulness
  • we suppress trauma in our bodies
  • be emotionally free
  • we embody all of the wisdom, truth and knowledge
  • resilience is when we step into the inbound, with grace/self compassion and the ability to walk through discomfort
  • healing is not linear

Tyler is a suicide survivor and has experienced the anomalous trauma of sequential ruptured patellar tendons. His first book, The Maniac with No Knees, is an exciting memoir that follows his journey with undiagnosed bipolar disorder through an eclectic series of mania-driven misadventures He is currently working on a second book, a composite novel called The Fables of Frog City. Tyler has pivoted his platform from standing up for people with mental illness to standing up for everyone who is oppressed. He shares the following nuggets of life wisdom:

  • people with mental illness need community, goals and medication
  • bipolar disorder can give you creativity, curiosity and empathy
  • it’s liberating to be authentic
